July 23, 2021 – The twenty-sixth official Friday Night BeerBlog

Okay, I may be exaggerating a little. What I’m doing isn’t completely different, but it is definitely different in theory. Just when you decide that everything is too busy and you just can’t take on one more thing, what do we normally do? That’s right, we take on more. That is usually because this add had seemed like a great idea at first and you’re all jazzed about it, until you get so far in, that it’s almost impossible to get out.

So what have I done? Well, I’m still writing this blog weekly. Right now it’s the only writing outlet I have time for. And Mike and I are still recording a podcast version of it on Friday nights because, you know, misery loves company and I love dragging him into this trouble with me.

But…I have decided, drumroll please, to give the Friday Night BeerBlog it’s own podcast called, oddly enough, “Friday Night BeerBlog”. So now I am now of host of not one, but two podcasts. I originally just started to do the FNBB podcast versions of my blog to plump up The New Old You library, which worked like a charm. But as we produced over 20 of them, they felt odd inside of The New Old You podcast, because they aren’t driven to the same goal or even particularly the same audience.

So, their symbiosis came to an end this week. The FNBB podcast got it’s own listing, it’s own artwork, it’s own music. And I copied all of the old versions of the FNBB over so that they will all live in the same place. I’ve started a new brand new podcast with twenty-five episodes already done. That’s my favorite part. I’m not having to reinvent the wheel, but giving this wheel it’s own car.

Why have I decided to add just one more thing and where is all this going? I just don’t know, I’m just taking it one step at a time. And this step felt right. I still don’t have any of the marketing stuff down and getting either of these podcasts out there for mass consumption is a job in itself I definitely don’t have time for. Which is where you come in. If you dig the FNBB or The New Old You for that matter, share them with people. Tell people so that they know where to find them. Believe it or not, word of mouth still works. World of mouth over social media works even better.

Keeping this week short because my arms are tired from carrying all of the old episodes over to the new address. And obviously it will be available on Friday nights.
