WHAT I’M LIKE AS A COACH

Hey

Some of my first memories are of watching Sesame Street and Mister Rogers Neighborhood. These programs taught me to spell, count, and love my neighbor, all while telling and reminding me how special I am.

I never forgot those lessons and started my career in Public Television, spending my early twenties producing and directing educational television programs. Later I moved into the museum world, producing and doing research for many immersive theater experiences and there I have been for over 25 years.

  • Straightforward – I will be the first to tell you that I can’t reach your goal for you.
  • Empathetic, but not a pushover – I get “real life”, but I can sniff out an excuse from a mile away
  • Caring – I totally believe that anyone can achieve anything and I want to make sure you get there
  • Reliable – I’m here for the long haul if you choose to work together for the 30 days or beyond
  • Resourceful – You don’t need to spend a ton of money to begin to take care of your health

WHAT I LOVE

  • Getting up before the sun
  • Being anywhere with my best friend, my husband, Mike
  • The back deck, a good IPA, and nothing to do
  • A long bike ride with all of my cycling buds
  • Having my two grown kids home and in their own beds

WHEN I WAS LITTLE

  • I ran around screaming “I Have The Power!” like a superhero
  • I loved riding my bike and pretending to be in the Tour de France
  • Scooby Doo was my favorite cartoon
  • I wanted to be a film director

FUN FACTS

  • I am a 3-time Master National Cycling Champion.
  • Mr. Rogers is my personal hero. I got a letter from him before he passed.
  • I’ve written four screenplays and have been a semi-finalist in screenwriting contests
  • I am one of the ugliest runners on the face of the earth, but I get it done.

Above all, be the heroine of your life. Not the victim.

I have also always loved sports. Through the years I have dabbled in many types of fitness – running, aerobic and step classes, spin classes, lifting weights. You name it, I’ve tried it.

In my late twenties, I was introduced to bicycle racing. I had always loved riding my bicycle, but never considered racing one. As soon as I saw this was something people actually did, I had to try it.

Sixteen years of competitive racing and 3 National Championship wins later, I co-founded, ran and coached a youth development cycling team that quickly grew from 10 to 80 kids. The team was named USA Cycling’s Best Youth Program in 2008, 2009, and 2010.

EDUCATOR

THE QUESTION ISN'T WHO IS GOING TO LET ME; IT'S WHO IS GOING TO STOP ME?

Ayn Rand

As midlife loomed, I was drawn to use all of my experience in educating, entertaining, and encouraging to start down a new road, a road where I felt I could be of benefit and help other middled aged women.

A blog was born, followed by a podcast, getting my personal trainer certification, and now a fitness and nutrition program to help women like you navigate to the start of a NEW health and wellness journey as you head into this new phase of life.

I am so excited that you are on this road with me and I invite you to come have some FUN!
