Yaass Queen, Own Your Femininity Like A Boss
March 11, 2022 – The Fifty-Sixth Official Friday Night BeerBlog
It’s been quite the week if I do say so myself. This week I had a conversation with Gina DeVee, who is the buiness and success coach behind author Jen Sincero, who wrote all of the “You Are A Badass” personal development books. It may not be a big deal to you, but Jen’s books came to me at a point when I needed a swift kick in the ass to do something different, to believe something different about myself. And Gina was the person behind the person that did that for it. It was a big. deal.
So Gina wrote this book “The Audacity To Be Queen” and if you ever felt like you needed permission to own your “queenhood”, she gives you that and more. So that’s right, I’m a Queen. Let me clarify, when I say I’m a Queen, I’m not saying I’m any better than anyone else. I’m not saying that I am less than anyone else. What I am saying is that I’m all about becoming the best version of myself.
It must be my RAS in action, because as I was reading this book I began to notice the word “Queen” over and over in my every day world. I saw women proclaiming themselves as Queens. And I smiled. I saw men shouting out their wives as the Queen in their life. And I smiled even more. (I see you Dane Brown.)
Every female is a Queen at her core. So why do some have a harder time feeling into this power? Does someone saying they are a Queen bother you? And why is it that all words that refer to a strong woman or to a female’s sensibilities have such a negative connotation? What is it to be feminine?
Being feminine is a gift. A rare gift. But when women wield their femininity, they tend to be pushed aside. Everything a woman is taught is that in order to be taken seriously she needs to be more masculine, the opposite of our true nature. We are expected to push individually as opposed to work in community, to demand instead of nurture, to be about the bottom line as opposed to the process. Against our better judgement we are taught to only give and never receive.
But a true Queen who is looking to establish herself in her femininity, needs to find the balance of her feminine instincts while utilizing some masculinity. Call it empowered femininity if you will. She allows you to play and create, to find your own solutions and dream outside the box, but also calls on masculine energy to make sure that systems and structures are developed so that we may share our gifts.
We’ve been in a masculine dominated world for so long that we as women have lost touch with our empowered femininity and therefore our true power in being a woman. And when we don’t connect with our femininity, we can never truly show the depth of our real potential. We’ll always be trying to be someone else.
We become someone who only thinks in terms of OR as opposed to AND. You can be wealthy OR help people, you can be beautiful OR smart, you can be successful OR happy. But you definitely can’t be both. Women who are in touch with their femininity know that you can be wealthy AND help people, you can be beautiful AND smart, you can be successful AND happy. You begin to realize there are no limits.
I think being truly feminine is the most beautiful idea. Epic really. Hello Mother Nature. She is all powerful, but all understanding at the same time. She doesn’t pull any punches, but wants to give you the benefit of the doubt at the same time. In the end there is no question that she runs the show. Father Nature who?
This world needs more femininity. It needs more Queens working together to bring back a homeostasis to the masculine – feminine balance in the World. The World needs every woman to become everything they were meant to be — and to be allowed to share it all.
